Fun things to do with your kids if you're not skiing

There are lots of fun things to do in resort that don’t involve skiing if you have little ones or kids who are only skiing half days or if the weather isn’t permitting.

  • Cinema

On rainy days the cinemas in resort usually have a late afternoon showing of family friendly movies. The cinemas are located at La Croisette building in Courchevel 1850, Maison de Moriond in 1650, the Auditorium in the centre of Meribel (next to the tourist office) and under the Tourist Office in the centre of Meribel Mottaret.

  • Bowling and arcade games

If the weather isn’t great the bowling alley will open earlier in resort. There is bowling at the Olympic Centre in Meribel or at Le Forum in Courchevel 1850. Otherwise these are open every evening throughout the week.

  • Swimming

There are swimming pools located within the Olympic Centre in Meribel or at the Aquamotion centre in Courchevel 1550. On Sunday in Meribel there is a family session from 11am with floats, games & noodles to play with. The pools can be busy but lots of fun nevertheless!

Or between 10am and noon Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday the swimming pool is open for babies when the paddling pool is available.

  • Ice Skating

There are ice skating rinks located in the Olympic Centre in Meribel and in Le Forum in Courchevel 1850.

  • Kenotheque/ games room

The games room in the Olympic Centre in Meribel has lots of board games, activities, books and toys to play with for kids of all ages. Open 9:30am-12 & 2:30pm-6pm.

  • Sledging

Sledging can be loads of fun, there are designated sledging areas at the Altiport in Meribel. You can also try the Rond Point area and there is the magic carpet to take you back up but children will need to be under close supervision as this is open to skier and boarders too. There is also a good area just in front of the Piou Piou office (around the corner from the Bubble Bar) in Courchevel 1650.

  • Tobogganing

Mission Black Forest toboggan run in Meribel is a 3.4km sled run on snow, descending 470m. It departs from the bottom of the Tougnette lift in the Chaudaunne and is open every day from 1pm- 4:25pm.

In Courchevel 1650 there is also 3km of Grand Prix style racing to unleash your inner racing driver. This is open every afternoon from 12pm- 4:30pm and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 7:30pm.
